LEADER - the leader is in charge of the clan and directs them. They are appointed after the deputy of a Clan dies. The leader must have had at least one apprentice and is in charge of giving cats their names, picking mentors, and overseeing the Clan. Their word is also the warrior code. They are given nine lives from StarClan and their suffix is -star.
DEPUTY - the second in command, the deputy is in charge of leading patrols and helping the leader. If the leader is unavailable, they will be in charge of the Clan. A deputy must have had at least once apprentice before being appointed. They are next in line to be leader.
MEDICINE CAT - medicine cats have the closest connection to StarClan. They have chosen to follow the path of faith and are responsible for healing cats as well as interpreting messages from the ancestors.
WARRIOR - most clan members are warriors. These are cats of 12 moons or older who fight and hunt for the Clan. They protect them from danger and apprentice the younger cats.
APPRENTICE - warriors in training. These cats are 6 to 12 moons old and are responsible for learning the ways of their clan and becoming warriors. Their suffix is -paw.
AN APPRENTICE GRADUATES WHEN THEY HAVE LEARNED: hunting, fighting, the territory. There needs to be one thread of each, and after it is completed the mentor PMs the leader and the Clan leader will hold an assessment and a ceremony for the apprentice. KIT - a kit is a cat under 6 moons. They are waiting to be the age to train and are usually very playful. Sometimes kits can run into trouble because of their excitement. Kits are apprenticed at 6 moons and have to live with their mother until then. Their suffix is -kit.
QUEEN - a queen is a warrior who is kitting. They have chosen to step down from their warrior responsibilities and birth kits. Queens can be temporary or full time. They are also responsible for the mourning ceremony when a cat has passed. Queens are generally very gentle.
ELDER - elder's are cats who have retired from being warriors and prefer to relax the rest of their days. They are usually cranky but have good advice for younger cats. Apprentices are responsible for caring for the elders. Elders may or may not have their name changed.
